Charity Navigator
One of the most respected charity evaluation services, Charity Navigator provides solid data on charities throughout the United States, so donors can make educated giving decisions, including those to the Italian Greyhound Rescue Foundation. Annually, the IGRF provides our financial statements to the US Internal Revenue Service for tax purposes, and also to services like Charity Navigator. This helps both individuals and businesses ensure that the charities they support are being fiscally responsible year after year. Services like Charity Navigator help ensure your donations are not being misused, or even stolen by misguided or fake charities. The data they provide about charities also helps ensure your donations are benefiting the end-cause, rather than being wasted on mass mailings, outrageous salaries and bonuses, or other extravagant costs.
We encourage our donors to read over our financial reports, so that you understand that we use nearly all annual funding to help the Italian Greyhound dogs in our care. Other data included in our annual reports show some of the following:
- Nearly all funding comes from dog adoptions, and donor giving.
- We have no paid employees, staff, or volunteers within our organization.
- We are a registered 501(c)(3) public charity as defined by the IRS.
- Our financial statements are audited to verify accuracy and integrity.

Although well-known charities receive 86% of annual charity donations given every year within the United States, this doesn't always mean they are the most effective. Often smaller charities, like the Italian Greyhound Rescue Foundation, spend a much higher percentage of their funding on the end cause. So, please take some time to review and get to know us, so you can be assured your donations are truly used for their intended purpose. Charity Navigator is 100% free to use, to receive information on any charity, so anyone can verify that the charities they support are of highest integrity.
