What Is It?
This cool program gives your recipients a gift card, but rather than the card being redeemed for merchandise, it allows the person receiving the card to select a charity of their choice where the gift certificate value is donated. Your gift is encouraging others to support a non-profit group of their selection, has values that are important to them, and at the same time to continue the mission of the selected group.
This is also a wonderful solution for corporations large and small, who want to give their employees a valuable gift, but can't give cash or cash-equivalent gifts that are taxable. Your organization simply has to send out the gift certificate to the employee of the month, as a holiday gift, or just to say thanks for putting in the extra effort. They get to choose their favorite charities that your corporate gift will benefit. The certificates can be given in any amount over $2, so there is really no limit as to how these great gifts can be used. Plus, unlike traditional cash gifts, gift-certificates or gift-cards these are non-taxable since they are not considered a bonus.
How It Works
- Visit the Charity Choice Gift Certificates website. You are automatically recognized as a supporter of the Italian Greyhound Rescue Foundation. (We get a small referral donation for being the referring partner.)
- Decide on the amount you want to give the recipient ($2 or more).
- Choose how you want it delivered... Your options include by postal mail in the form of a traditional gift card, electronically (via email or social media), or you can even print out the gift card yourself to give the person face-to-face or in an envelope.
- That person then visits the Charity Choice Gift Certificates page to select up to 3 of their favorite charities where the donation will be sent.
